Dear Friends,

 

The 2007 Euraps Meeting is coming up (May 24-26) and I’m proud to say that it will take place in my own town of Gent. Indeed, on the brink of my last year as Euraps Secretary General it is quite special, for me as well as for my team, to be able to organize the first Euraps Meeting ever to take place in Belgium.

For those of you who know Gent, I’m sure it will be a pleasure to return and for those of you still unfamiliar with this town, you will be very pleasantly surprised by the treasures this city has to offer. 

 

Although less famous among tourists than the smaller city of Bruges, many people consider Gent the real diamond of Flanders and Belgium.

In a unique way, Gent has managed to preserve its medieval power while keeping up with the (very) modern times, combining both impressive architecture and idyllic charm.

  
The program looks very attractive:

On Thursday,  the Welcome Reception will take place in the prestigious Aula of the University while the venue of the  Scientific Meeting will be the historic building of Het Pand. This former Dominican monastery is situated in the very old center of town and belongs to the University.

A Fairy Tale Banquet on Friday will  be organised in the unique Ooidonk Castle, which dates from the 16th Century and is located a few kilometers south west of Gent  .

On Saturday, we will end with a Belgian Delicacy Evening in the magnificent town hall. 

 

 

As always, the main aim for this Meeting is to excel in quality and to bring together the best of plastic surgery from within (and even outside) Europe and we would like to invite you to submit abstracts for this important meeting. 

 

Abstracts can only be submitted online and the abstract forms can be found on the Euraps website: http://www.euraps.org, Meetings, Meeting 2007, Abstracts. Do read the guidelines carefully and bear in mind that, only one abstract per person will be accepted. However, you can always have more abstracts submitted by other members of your team or department.  
You will also receive two Euraps posters by regular mail. Please make sure these receive maximum exposure. 

 

Remember that the deadline for abstract submission is December 1, 2006!   
You will be notified whether or not your abstract is accepted in February 2007. 
 

I am convinced the Gent 2007 EURAPS Meeting will be a memorable one  and we are looking forward to welcoming all of you in  our town!
